BCP LIFE Residents’ Card Launches with Local Discounts

Residents across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole can now make the most of discounts across Council-services and local independent businesses: simply because they live in our wonderful area.

From cheaper parking and free swimming to savings on high-street stores and family thrills, a range of discounts are on the way for residents as part of the newly-launched BCP LIFE scheme.

The much-anticipated Residents’ Card, branded as BCP LIFE, has launched today and will give local households more for their money - making their day a little easier.

Everyday perks are available from today – with cheaper parking,  discounted food and drinks at Council-operated cafes, free swimming at leisure centres, savings on seafront ice creams, and money-off coastal thrills such as rock climbing and zip-wires.

The scheme has been funded through the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund grant with matched funding from BCP Council: UKSPF grants are ringfenced for projects that drive economic growth.

But it’s not just Council-run services that residents can save money off: the BCP LIFE card unlocks discounts at local businesses across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

Details of all the available discount can be found on the BCP LIFE website which will be continually updated as more businesses join the scheme.

Cllr Millie Earl, Leader of BCP Council, said: “We know just how important it is to recognise the incredible contribution of our residents – their passion and pride is what makes our communities so special – and BCP LIFE does just that.

“We already know this is a great place to live with proud communities who care deeply about their local area and I’m really pleased that our residents will now be able to benefit from exclusive discounts across our towns: helping to ease ongoing cost of living pressures.

“This is an exciting first phase for BCP LIFE and I can’t wait to see what comes next.”

The scheme is centred around every-day benefits that ensure residents get more for their money from council services – helping protect incomes at the same time as supporting local businesses.

Cheaper parking is available at select town centre council-run surface car parks: with a free hour with any session purchased after 9.30am reducing the cost for residents and giving them more time to enjoy the best of our town centres and beaches.

And the savings soon add up: anyone going for a swim, and using one of our car parks, just once a month could save more than £80 a year.
